Your first impression of the course is the log cabin-style clubhouse and granite boulders in the deep woods setting of the upper peninsula – a real getaway for the fun of golf.  Timberstone Golf Course at Pine Mountain Resort has excellent parking and bag drop as well as above average carts and very nice cart paths. The clubhouse is outstanding, with a good food selection and a full-service bar. There is a good selection of golf equipment and a great selection of apparel.   They have excellent customer service and all at an affordable price.

Your front nine’s first tee shot begins on small, level tee blocks. The rolling fairway runs downhill and is skirted with long rough. Real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe are found on hole 1. The green is guarded on the front right by a small water hazard. Green is medium in size, receptive, rolling and runs at a fast speed.

SUMMARY:

Timberstone Golf Course at Pine Mountain Resort is one of the upper peninsula’s best courses and a solid value play. The maintenance of the course is very high. The deep woods setting, dense treelined fairways, and remarkable landscape provide scenic views that showcase Timberstone Golf Course’s natural beauty.  Golfers of all skill levels will appreciate the challenge of the course yet find it to be fair and in great shape. One slight drawback is many of the bunkers have a few small stones in them. The rest of the course and service is top notch.
