The clubhouse at Singing Bridge Golf Club located on Noble Road in the Tawas area, may be modest in size and lacks extravagant offerings in terms of food, drinks, equipment, or apparel. However, it compensates with sufficient parking space and well-maintained carts and cart paths. Noteworthy is the convenience of a self-serve bag drop. Yet, its true charm lies in the welcoming atmosphere and exceptional service, distinguishing it from the rest.

Hole 1 – Par 4 – Rating 5.34

Red: 323 yds
White: 414 yds

Begin your round from large, level tee blocks on this straight-ahead par 4. The flat fairway has a few rough spots and the rough is long. There is a water hazard to avoid on the left side of the fairway. There are no bunkers, and the fringe is maintained. The green itself is large, receptive and putts at a slow speed.

Hole 2 – Par 3 – Rating 5.50

White: 100 yds

There are medium sized tees to start your first par 3. Unfortunately, they are not completely level. Tee through the opening with medium length rough and a water hazard left of the green. There are no bunkers, and the fringe is maintained. The green is large, runs at a slow speed with a receptive surface.

Small and level tees point you down a narrow flat fairway with medium length rough. To the right of the fairway lies a water hazard and the fairway doglegs slightly right closer to the green. A maintained fringe surrounds this large, receptive green that rolls at a slow speed.

The tees are level and small with a water hazard immediately to your right that should not come into play. The fairway is flat and there is medium rough edging it. The receptive green is slow of speed and medium in size.

The second par 3 on the front nine has small, level tees with a water hazard to the left to avoid. Shot is straight away, and the hole has medium length rough and a maintained fringe. This green is receptive but has a distinct crown to it. It putts at a slow speed and is large in size.

Unlevel and small tees begin hole 6. The flat fairway has a water hazard to its left side and medium length rough all the way. no bunkers and a maintained fringe around the green. The green is large, receptive and runs at a slow speed.

The tee blocks on this hole are small and level. There is medium length rough skirting the flat fairway. A water hazard is left of the tees but should pose no threat. Still not a bunker in sight. The green is large, slow of speed, and elevated with a receptive surface.

Level and small tees start this par 4. The flat fairway has rough medium in length and there are no hazards. A maintained fringe edges this large, receptive green that putts slow.

Medium sized, level tees begin your final hole on the front nine. The flat fairway runs back to the clubhouse with medium length rough siding it. There are no hazards. You finish this nine in another large, receptive green that is slow of speed.

Start the back nine on level, medium sized tees. The fairway is flat, has medium length rough and there is a bunker on this hole – the only one on the course. It is unmaintained and they maybe letting it grow in and disappear. The fringe is maintained, and the large green is receptive and putts slow.

The first par 3 on the back nine is by far the most visually appealing and challenging hole encounter this far. The tees are medium in size and level as you tee off over a water hazard. No bunkers to worry about. The fringe is maintained, and the green is large, and putts slow. Oddly it is not nearly as receptive as others with a harder surface.

Welcome to your first par 5 on the course. The tees are large and level. The fairway is flat with medium length rough. It doglegs left and has a flowing water hazard all down the right side of the fairway. The green is large, receptive, and putts at a slow speed with a surrounding maintained fringe.

Hole 13 – Par 4 – Rating 5.34

Hole 13 is a straight-away par 4 with level, medium size tees. The fairway is flat and the rough is medium in length. No bunkers and a water hazard right of the green to avoid. This green is unique to the course due to it being one of the few that is rolling and undulating more. Medium in size, slow of speed and receptive.

Level, medium size tees start this shorter par 4. The flat fairway has medium length rough skirting it and there are no hazards. The fringe is maintained. The green is crowned, large in size, and receptive. It putts at a slow speed.

Your final par 5 has small but level tee blocks. The fairway is flat with medium length rough. There is a water hazard right and short of the green where it doglegs slightly right. The green is a large, receptive green with a slow speed and a maintained fringe.

Start the final 3-hole stretch of par 4s to finish with level, medium size tees. The flat fairway doglegs left with a water hazard to the left side. The rough is medium in length and there are no bunkers. The fringe is maintained around this large, receptive green that putts slow.

The penultimate hole has small and level tees and is straight-away. The flat fairway is sided with medium length rough and not a bunker in sight. The fringe is maintained, and the green is receptive, large but again, putts slow, though consistent.

The final hole is a par 4 with medium size, level tee blocks. The fairway doglegs sharply right closer to the green with no hazards to speak of. The fringe is maintained. The final large green is receptive and runs at a slow speed.

SUMMARY:

Located above the thumb and Saginaw Bay not far from Lake Huron and the Ausable River we find Singing Bridge Golf Club. This course plays only a maximum if 5,926 yards from the longest tees and may initially appear unremarkable, characterized by mostly flat fairways and greens that are relatively easy to navigate. Although the maintenance is decent, there are areas where improvements could enhance the overall experience. Nevertheless, the course maintains a consistent quality throughout, enabling players to establish a rhythm. While it may not be considered a championship-level course, its suitability for newcomers seeking to refine their skills is evident.
