Timber Ridge Golf Course has a very nice clubhouse with a snack bar with a normal golf course menu and a full bar. A below average selection for apparel and equipment was noted, but what they do carry has average pricing. Self-serve bag drop and decent amenities such as a picturesque practice range and a rolling practice green are available as well as very good parking. Average carts and cart paths need (and will get) some attention in the future. There are banquet services.

This starting par 4 begins with medium sized, level tees. The fairway fades left slightly, is rolling and runs uphill. Medium length rough, real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe are featured. The green is receptive and rolling, medium in size and running at a fast speed.

Tee off over long rough from level, medium sized tees. This rolling fairway runs downhill and is edged with medium length rough. Green is guarded by a real sand bunker and has a maintained fringe. The green is medium in size, very rolling and receptive, and runs at a fast speed.

Considered a signature hole, this par 4 starts with medium sized, level tees. Fairway is rolling and runs downhill then back up hill. Water hazard is to the left of fairway and high ground is to the right. Real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe were noted. This green is large and fast, though elevated, is quite receptive and rolling.

The first par 3 has medium sized, level tees. Rough runs from tee to small fairway and hole plays uphill. Bunkers are real sand and the fringe is maintained. The green is receptive and rolling, fast and large.

The first par 5 has level, medium sized tees. A rolling fairway lies straight away and has medium length rough. Real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe are featured. This green is large and fast, receptive and rolling.

This shorter par 4 has level, medium tees. The fairway doglegs severely to the right then runs downhill to a water hazard, then uphill to the green. Medium length rough, real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe are found on this hole. This green is very undulating, and receptive. Also, it is large and quite fast.

Large, level tee blocks start this par 3. Tee over a large, marshy, waste area. Medium length rough surrounds the green with real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe. The green is receptive, rolling as well as large and fast.

The front 9 finishes with a par 5 having level, medium size tees that lead you to a fairway that slightly doglegs right and has medium rough. Note real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe. This hole plays longer than it is. This large, receptive, rolling green is fast in speed.

The final par 3 has level, medium size, elevated tees. It plays downhill, over a water hazard to a long, large and narrow green. Rough is medium in length, bunkers are real sand and the fringe is maintained. The green is also receptive with many breaks.

This finishing par 4 is another signature hole. Tee off from level, medium size tees. The fairway is rolling, and doglegs left with a large water hazard to carry to the green. Rough is medium in length, bunkers are real sand and the fringe is well-maintained. A final large, fast receptive green that is rolling awaits you.

SUMMARY:

Timber Ridge Golf Course is a course on its way back and in great shape. Originally designed by famed course designer Jerry Matthews with a nice layout. The maintenance and care are getting better each year. The fairways with rolling terrain, roughs and bunkers are very consistent. The greens rated as highly as any we have reviewed and may be in the top ten greens for the state. The course features water hazards, hilly terrain, varieties of trees, multiple sets of tees, a natural environment, and smooth greens. It has a good pace of play and plays 6,514 yards of golf from the championship tees and 4,913 yards of golf from the forward tees providing a challenge for different skill levels.  The good service along with the increased quality make Timber Ridge Golf Course a recommended play.
