The Timbers Golf Club Clubhouse

Clubhouse and Amenities – Rating 7.33

The Timbers Golf Club in Vassar, Michigan, boasts a welcoming clubhouse and a well-appointed pro shop, enhancing the overall golfing experience for visitors. The clubhouse offers a cozy atmosphere with typical golf course menu items of hot dogs, chips, candy and more all at average pricing, ideal for socializing after a round of golf. It features comfortable seating, scenic views of the course, and a variety of refreshments to enjoy including a full bar.
Adjacent to the clubhouse, the pro shop is stocked with a decent apparel selection, and a decent, but limited equipment selection, mostly balls, gloves, tees and they do have rental clubs. Golfers will find average pricing to a few highly priced items. There is a bag drop and good amenities of a putting green and driving range. The friendly staff are on hand to provide advice, ensuring that all guests are welcome. Yardage books are available. Together, the clubhouse and pro shop create a warm and inviting hub for golf enthusiasts in the heart of Michigan.

Begin your round from large, level tee boxes. The fairway is flat with short rough. There is a pond water hazard left off the tee and another pond water hazard all down the right side. Bunkers are real sand and the fringe is maintained. The large green is receptive and putts at a fast speed.

From medium size, level tees, you tee over a small marsh area to the large green on your first par 3. The rough is short and there are no bunkers. The fringe is maintained around the large green that has a receptive and fast putting surface.

The first par 5 starts on level, medium size tees. This fairway is fairly flat and has a slight dogleg right, edged with medium length rough. There is a pond water hazard left as you near the green. The real sand bunkers have multiple rakes, and the fringe is maintained. The large green is receptive, rolling and putts at a fast pace.

From level, medium size tee blocks, tee off into a rolling, tree lined fairway with an up north feel. The rough is short and there is a dry creek bed. The bunkers are real sand with the fairway bunkers in great shape. This large, rolling and receptive green has a maintained fringe and is a fast-putting surface.

Here the tee boxes are small but level. Tee over a waste area/dry creek bed into the dog leg right flatter fairway. The distance to the dogleg makes club selection important. Bunkers are real sand with multiple rakes and the fringe is maintained. Another large, receptive and rolling green awaits you that runs at a fast speed.

The level, medium size tees allow you to tee over a dry creek bed/waste area on this second par 3. The hole fades right and the large green is guarded by short rough and real sand bunkers. The fringe is maintained surrounding the rolling and receptive putting surface that is fast of pace.

Hole 7 is a tight dogleg left from small, level tee boxes. Tee over the dry creek bed and find the rolling fairway where placement is everything. There is short rough, real sand bunkers and a maintained fringe. The rolling and receptive green is large and rolls quite fast for putting.

Small, level tees start the final hole on the front nine. The fairway is flatter and wends its way along as it is skirted by short rough. Bunkers have multiple rakes and are real sand. The maintained fringe edges the large, fast running green that is receptive and rolling.

Start your back nine from level, medium size tees. To say this hole is tight is an understatement. Find that tight, tree-lined, flat fairway over the dry creek bed and avoid the real sand bunkers and short rough if you can. A maintained fringe skirts the large green that runs at a medium speed and is receptive and rolling.

​From level, medium size tees, hole 11 runs straight-away slightly fading right. The rolling fairway has short rough. All bunkers have real sand and are in good shape. This large green has a maintained fringe and a rolling, receptive surface that putts at a fast speed.

Tee over the dry creek bed to the large green on this first par 3 on the back nine. There are no bunkers and only short rough guards the green. The fringe is maintained, and the putting surface is fast of speed with a rolling and receptive feel.

Level, medium size tees give you a good view to hit the rolling fairway that doglegs right with short rough. There are no hazards on this hole, but it is tree-lined so hitting straight is good. The receptive and rolling green has a maintained fringe and is large with a fast-putting pace.

Large and level tee blocks begin this challenging par 5. The fairway is rolling, and doglegs left with short rough. There are water hazards aplenty with pond at the left side at the corner, down the left side after the corner, and the large green sitting on a peninsula or island surrounded by water. Bunkers contain real sand and the fringe is maintained. The green surface has a receptive, rolling feel and the speed is fast.

Level, medium size tees lead you to the flattish fairway in the distance. The rough is short and there is a water hazard late down the right side. The real sand bunkers are in fine shape and the fringe is maintained. The fast-rolling green is large and receptive in nature.

Finish on this par 4 hole from large and level tee boxes. The flat fairway has short rough and no bunkers though there is a water hazard all down the right side and also on the left side as you near the green. The maintained fringe edging this large green is nice and the surface is receptive, rolling and fast in speed.
