The Majestic at Lake Walden Clubhouse

Clubhouse and Amenities – Rating 7.71

The clubhouse at The Majestic at Lake Walden a is very nice championship facility with good parking and self-serve bag drop. The golf carts are excellent and the cart paths in very good condition. The food is typical bar-type food with a decent selection. There is a full bar available. There is not much in the way of equipment, but they do have a decent apparel selection for both men and women. The service is quite good and very friendly with a full complement of amenities like a natural driving range and practice green.

Hole 1 – Par 4 – Rating 8.00

The tee blocks on your starting hole are small but level. The fairway is flat with short rough. There is a water hazard off the tee to the left. The bunkers are sand mixed with some dirt and the fringe is maintained. The large green is surrounded by moguls and the surface is receptive and putts at a medium speed.

The small tees are a bit unlevel. The rolling fairway runs both uphill and downhill with fairway bunkers and short rough that has a few brown patches. This hole doglegs slightly left. The sand traps are a mix of dirt and sand. Moguls and a maintained fringe circle the green. The green itself is large, receptive and tiered front to back. It runs at a medium speed.

It is sloped from back to front and receptive.

SUMMARY:

The Majestic at Walden Lake golf course has some very nice features – one being it has an up north feel on many of the holes like many Michigan golf courses. The green speeds, fairways, and tees are very consistent. Designed by course architect Jerry Matthews, this course has a mix of topography features such as, acres of forests, tree-lined fairways, fair landing areas, elevation changes, a variety of bunkers, multi-tiered greens, bent grass and multiple sets of tee boxes. The course is beautiful and provides a challenging round of golf yet allows for a great pace of play for golfers of different skill levels from beginner to serious player. Based on our value rating, we can highly recommend The Majestic at Walden Lake. Also, there is a 3rd nine holes (19-27) that will be reviewed and posted.
