Clubhouse and Amenities – Rating 7.31

The clubhouse at The Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe – Grand Rapids is top notch. The parking is good with a bag drop available. The amenities such as practice green and driving range are in great shape. The carts are excellent, but the cart paths could use a little upgrade on the course in spots. The food/dining, apparel selection, and golf equipment available are decent and averagely priced. There is a full bar and a variety of other beverages. Yardage books are available and the service is quite good.

A medium sized green is rolling and receptive, but deceptively fast. We consider this the signature hole.

After the stream, the fairway runs uphill to an elevated green. The rough is short, the bunkers are real sand, and the fringe is maintained. The medium size green is tiered, rolling and receptive. It runs at a fast speed.

The Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe is an 18-hole course featuring bent grass fairways, many hardwood-lined fairways, hundreds of feet of river frontage, and untouched wetlands. The layout of each hole combines the flexibility of multiple tees and hole location to provide a challenge that will push the limits of your ability. As one of the best golf courses in the area, the Golf Club at Thornapple Pointe provides a value and an enjoyable play all around. There is an overall consistency to the course, especially in green size and speed as well as the sand quality. We consider this course as a recommended play.
