Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Clubhouse

Clubhouse and Amenities – Rating 4.60

At this time, the clubhouse at Huckleberry Creek Golf Course is more of a way station to pop into before, after or midway through your round to grab a quick water, pop or snack. We would like to note, however, that they have plans to remodel the clubhouse in the 2024-2025 seasons and add many new features so the clientele can make better use of the space available. There are few items for apparel or equipment and a very limited selection of beverages and snacks. Amenities include a putting green for warm up. Parking is adequate as are the golf carts, but the cart paths need some attention and there is no official bag drop area. Fortunately, the service was outstanding, and they make you feel right at home.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Front Nine

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 1

Hole 1 – Par 4 – Rating 6.57

Red: 230 yds
Gold: 250 yds
White: 268 yds
Blue: 288 yds

Start the round from level, medium size tee boxes on this beginning short par 4. The fairway is flat with medium length rough and doglegs around a water hazard to the left. A tree line past the pond makes you hang to the right or, if you can be accurate on distance, attempt to drop it over water closer to the green. Bunkers are real sand with multiple rakes and the fringe is maintained. The green is medium in size and speed and has a receptive feel.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 2

Hole 2 – Par 3 – Rating 6.00

Red: 115 yds
Gold: 120 yds
White: 130 yds
Blue: 139 yds

Tee off over a water hazard from large and level tees to your first par 3 on the front nine. Note no bunkers and not much to guard the green save some short rough. A maintained fringe is around this large green that is receptive and putts at a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 3

Hole 3 – Par 4 – Rating 6.29

Red: 291 yds
Gold: 326 yds
White: 376 yds
Blue: 429 yds

Level, medium size tees give you a good look at this tee shot through the opening to the rolling fairway that runs uphill and doglegs right. The rough is short, the bunkers are deep with real sand and beware the pond water hazard fronting the large green. The fringe is maintained surrounding this putting surface which is receptive and sloped back to front. It runs at a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 4

Hole 4 – Par 5 – Rating 5.67

Red: 375 yds
Gold: 410 yds
White: 486 yds
Blue: 499 yds

Your first par 5 on the front nine is a straight-away from small, level tees. The fairway is flat but runs uphill from the tee box being sided with short rough. There are no bunkers, and the fringe is maintained. There is also a marsh/wetland long and left of the green that should not come into play. The green is large, receptive and rolls at a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 5

Hole 5 – Par 4 – Rating 6.00

Red: 310 yds
Gold: 310 yds
White: 355 yds
Blue: 395 yds

Level, medium size tee blocks give you a great shot to hit this wide open, flat fairway edged by medium rough. There are no hazards on this hole and the fringe is maintained. The green is medium speed, receptive and large bur not much movement.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 6

Hole 6 – Par 4 – Rating 6.57

Red: 280 yds
Gold: 295 yds
White: 315 yds
Blue: 343 yds

This par 4 starts on level, medium size tees. The fairway is rolling and runs downhill to a green you cannot see from the tees, which sits slightly to the left of the fairway. Note no bunkers and the fringe is maintained. A marsh/wetland sits to the left and behind the green, so left or long is a bad play. The receptive green is both medium in speed and size.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 7

Hole 7 – Par 3 – Rating 6.00

Red: 107 yds
Gold: 117 yds
White: 132 yds
Blue: 158 yds

This nice par 3 starts on large and level tees and is charming in its visual appeal. Teeing over a creek bed should be no problem and the approach is flat and slightly uphill to this medium size green with a maintained fringe. The rough is medium length and the bunkers are real sand. The green surface is receptive, rolling, sloped back to front and runs at a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 8

Hole 8 – Par 5 – Rating 6.00

Red: 360 yds
Gold: 360 yds
White: 479 yds
Blue: 545 yds

This beautiful par 5 is what we, at Michigan Golf Matrix, consider the signature hole. Start on small but level tees. Double check if you have a GPS as you near the green. There used to be another green and GPS readings seem off about 35-40 yards by reading the old green. The fairway is flat with a large water hazard down the right side. It doglegs right to the green which sits on a hill over the water hazard. The rough is short and the bunkers are real sand. A maintained fringe surrounds the large green which putts at a medium speed, with a slope from back to front and a receptive feel.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 9

Hole 9 – Par 3 – Rating 6.00

Red: 155 yds
Gold: 165 yds
White: 185 yds
Blue: 215 yds

A 3rd par 3 on the front nine has medium size, level tees. This longer par 3 is tough due the length and the green which sits up on a plateau. The fairway/approach is flat with medium rough, and the bunkers are real sand. A maintained fringe edges the green, which is both medium in size and speed, with a receptive and rolling surface.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Back Nine

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 10

Hole 10 – Par 3 – Rating 6.33

Red: 114 yds
Gold: 155 yds
White: 165 yds
Blue: 178 yds

The back nine starts on a par 3 as another added quirk to the layout. From large and level tees go straight at the green but don’t go long, a marshy creek water hazard awaits back there. It does run slightly downhill with medium length rough but there are no bunkers. The green is medium size with a maintained fringe. The putting surface is medium speed, receptive and sloped back to front.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 11

Hole 11 – Par 4 – Rating 6.00

Red: 214 yds
Gold: 214 yds
White: 245 yds
Blue: 280 yds

From level, medium size tees, everything is placement on this hole. The fairway is flat, and it is only about 150 yards to the corner of the dogleg right. No bunkers but there is medium rough and a creek/marsh water hazard to carry over on your 2nd shot. The green sits back in a tight tree area and is uphill from the fairway. The fringe is maintained around this small, medium speed green that is receptive and sloped back to front. Short hole but tough on a player’s accuracy.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 12

Hole 12 – Par 4 – Rating 6.00

Red: 304 yds
Gold: 304 yds
White: 385 yds
Blue: 410 yds

This nice par 4 has small but level tee blocks to start on. The rolling fairway runs uphill and then back downhill with short rough. No bunkers but there is a very nice water hazard pond fronting the small green with a maintained fringe. The green is sloped back to front, receptive, with a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 13

Hole 13 – Par 4 – Rating 6.00

Red: 275 yds
Gold: 287 yds
White: 292 yds
Blue: 325 yds

Hole 13 is a nice little par 4 from small and level tee boxes. The fairway is slightly rolling with short rough. There is a pond water hazard short and left off the tee that should not be in play. The bunkers are real deep sand, and the fringe is maintained. This receptive and rolling green is small and putts at a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 14

Hole 14 – Par 5 – Rating 6.00

Red: 390 yds
Gold: 390 yds
White: 515 yds
Blue: 565 yds

The first of back-to-back par 5’s starts on level, medium size tees. Not much to fret about here as there are no hazards. The fairway is rolling, and wide open with short rough. This medium speed green is interesting with a slope back to front and is crowned. It’s hard to hold due to surface and the small size.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 15

Hole 15 – Par 5 – Rating 6.00

Red: 392 yds
Gold: 392 yds
White: 502 yds
Blue: 535 yds

Medium size, level tee blocks start the 2nd of the 2 par 5’s on the back nine. The rolling fairway runs uphill from the tees for a bit then levels out with short rough. Again, we have no hazards to worry over, so bombs away on your drive. The medium size and speed green has a maintained fringe, and the surface is rolling and receptive.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 16

Hole 16 – Par 4 – Rating 6.00

Red: 327 yds
Gold: 327 yds
White: 428 yds
Blue: 455 yds

Medium size, level tees start this fairly straight-forward par 4. The fairway is flat with a slight uphill feel. The rough is short on this hole and we have no hazards to contend with. The fringe is maintained on the medium size and speed green. The surface is rolling and past the green the terrain falls away so don’t go long.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 17

Hole 17 – Par 3 – Rating 6.00

Red: 112 yds
Gold: 151 yds
White: 169 yds
Blue: 210 yds

Tee over a marshy creek water hazard from level, medium size tees. The green is guarded by short rough and real sand bunkers. A maintained fringe edges the large green which has a receptive and rolling putting surface that rolls out at a medium speed.

Huckleberry Creek Golf Course Hole 18

Hole 18 – Par 4 – Rating 6.33

Red: 298 yds
Gold: 320 yds
White: 325 yds
Blue: 354 yds

Finish your round from small but level tee blocks on this dogleg right par 4. The fairway is flat, and the dogleg right is severe. Rough is short, bunkers are real sand and placed well, and the fringe is maintained. Also avoid the pond water hazard. This receptive green is medium in speed and size, but not much break in it.
