For public golf courses, the course at Hankered Hills could benefit from some tender loving care in certain areas, although others exhibit solid and commendable features. One notable aspect is the consistent quality of the fairways, greens, and green speed. While it may not be considered a premier destination course, it does provide excellent value for its affordability while still delivering an enjoyable playing experience. It plays 6,426 yards from the back tees with water hazards, a variety of bunkers, a scenic layout, multiple sets of tees, some narrow-driving holes, bent grass, and some northern Michigan charm tossed in. It particularly caters well to beginners and golfers of different skill levels. As highlighted in the Clubhouse section, the availability of a delightful menu and bar adds to the overall enjoyment of a day spent there. See our video of Hankerd Hills Golf Course.
