Clubhouse and Amenities – Rating 5.78

The clubhouse at Chemung Hills Golf Club is nice throughout. There is a spacious banquet room with a pub style menu and a fully stocked bar. This public golf course also has a limited apparel selection to go along with a limited equipment selection of mostly just balls, tees, and gloves. The parking is adequate, and they have a self-serve bag drop area. Both the carts and cart paths rated solid. The staff and service were good.

Black: 340 yds
White: 378 yds

This hole starts a string of 5 par 4’s to end the front 9 and features large tee boxes that are not level, unfortunately. This rolling fairway runs downhill and is visually quite beautiful being separated by a water hazard that is in exceptional shape. The rough is medium in length and the bunkers are real sand. The green is large and surrounded by a maintained fringe. The surface is rolling, receptive and putts at a fast speed.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 6

The tee blocks here were large, level but very hard at the time of review. The fairway is rolling and has a slight dogleg right with a few water hazards that shouldn’t come into play off the tee. There is medium rough, real sand bunkers, and a maintained fringe with a few bad spots. This large rolling green runs at a fast pace.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 10

Hole 10 – Par 5 – Rating 8.00

Red: 350 yds
Black: 353 yds
White: 493 yds
Blue: 534 yds

The tees to start the back nine are not level and are medium in size. Luckily, this hole does offer one of the most awe-inspiring views of the course. The fairway is rolling on this straight-away par 5 with medium length rough. There is a very nice water hazard short and right of the green. Bunkers are real sand and the fringe is maintained. The green is small, receptive and putts at a medium speed.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 11

Hole 11 – Par 3 – Rating 6.58

Red: 128 yds
Black: 128 yds
White: 133 yds
Blue: 139 yds

The tee boxes here are large but not level. This par 3 is straight-away but plays well downhill. There is a flowing water hazard to tee over, and the small green is guarded by real sand bunkers and medium rough. The fringe is maintained, and the green surface is receptive and runs at a medium speed.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 12

Hole 12 – Par 4 – Rating 7.72

Red: 276 yds
Black: 280 yds
White: 359 yds
Blue: 367 yds

Large and level tees allow you to be choosey concerning how to play this par 4. Distance is not as important as placement. This hole we consider a signature hole due to its many water hazards. The fairway here is flat and the rough is short. Bunkers are real sand and the fringe is maintained. The rolling, receptive green is large and putts at a medium pace.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 13

Hole 13 – Par 4 – Rating 6.66

Red: 280 yds
Black: 362 yds
White: 417 yds
Blue: 438 yds

Hole 13 has small and unlevel tee areas. It also has a rolling fairway that is a sweeping dogleg left, runs downhill and is lined with medium length rough. Real sand bunkers and maintained fringe are with the large green, which is rolling and putts at a medium pace.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 14

Hole 14 – Par 4 – Rating 7.00

Red: 317 yds
Black: 321 yds
White: 348 yds
Blue: 394 yds

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 15

Hole 15 – Par 5 – Rating 7.72

Red: 325 yds
Black: 456 yds
White: 501 yds
Blue: 505 yds

The final par 5 on the course starts on large and level tees. The rolling fairway, though straight to the green, meanders about with medium rough and with a water hazard to tee over and another one right of the green to avoid. The bunkers are real sand and the fringe is maintained well. This rolling, large green is receptive and runs at a medium speed.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 16

Hole 16 – Par 4 – Rating 6.86

Red: 245 yds
Black: 247 yds
White: 298 yds
Blue: 310 yds

Tee off of large and level tees on another risk-reward type hole. The fairway is rolling with medium length rough. There is a nice pond water hazard directly in front of the elevated green. Bunkers are real sand, and the fringe is maintained. This green is quite small. So, carrying the hazard and accuracy is a must. It has a rolling and medium speed surface.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 17

Hole 17 – Par 4 – Rating 7.34

Red: 270 yds
Black: 290 yds
White: 381 yds
Blue: 395 yds

Medium size, level tee boxes start your penultimate hole which is a par 4 with a rolling fairway that slightly doglegs left. Rough is medium length, bunkers area real sand, and the fringe is maintained. We have here another small green that is rolling and receptive, putting at a medium speed.

Chemung Hills Golf Club Hole 18

Hole 18 – Par 3 – Rating 7.34

Red: 109 yds
Black: 120 yds
White: 160 yds
Blue: 204 yds

Not many courses finish on a par 3 but we do here from tees that are small but, thankfully, level. This par 3 plays uphill to a medium size green with a lower left side that is trouble, so erring right is not a bad idea. Bunkers are real sand and the rough is medium length. The green surface is rolling, receptive, and runs at a medium pace.
