Clubhouse and Amenities Rating 9.09

Bucks Run Golf Club in Mount Pleasant provides good and ample parking along with good bag drop service. Service is very good throughout. Carts are in excellent condition and very well maintained with the added convenience of GPS. Bucks Run Clubhouse is very nice with overlook of the beautiful course and provides decent amenities. The golf shop provides a decent selection of equipment along with a large selection of apparel with average pricing on both. They have limited but good menu selections at the Quarry Grill Restaurant with average pricing. Lastly, Bucks Run Golf Club has a full bar available along with on course beverage carts.

Hole 1 – Par 4 – Rating 9.34

Starting is a straight par 4 with a level and medium-sized tee boxes. Following is a tree lined rolling fairway with medium rough. Soft sand bunkers are very well maintained. Fringe is well maintained. A small sized green that is very receptive, rolling and tiered runs at a fast speed.

Beginning on a level tee block you drive into a flat fairway that doglegs right around a large water hazard. Rough is medium length. Bunkers are raked like a Zen Garden and the green is surrounded by a manicured fringe. The rolling, receptive green is medium sized.

Hole 3 starts with medium sized, level sets of tees. Your drive goes over marshy natural wetlands into a flat fairway that slightly doglegs left. Hole features medium rough, real sand bunkers, and well-maintained fringe. The medium sized green is receptive, rolling and runs at a fast speed.

This longer par 3 has a level medium sized tee block. There is some manicured fairway leading to the green and a water hazard all along the left side. Hole includes medium rough, well-maintained real sand bunkers and fringe. A tiered green is receptive and rolling, medium size and fast speed.

This par 3 starts with large and level tees. You shoot downhill to a green sided and backed by a pond. Rough is medium length. Real sand bunkers and fringe are both well-maintained. The green is large and fast, many breaks and very receptive.

Tee off over a steam from tees that are as level as can be. Fairway is rolling and runs uphill part of the way. Rough is medium length and there is ground under repair currently between the fairways of 15 and 16. Fescue is being grown there and a free drop is allowed. Well-maintained real sand bunkers and fringe are consistent with the course. Green is large, receptive, and rolling running at a fast speed.

Level, medium sized tees point you down a rolling fairway that runs downhill. Hole has medium length rough, and real sand maintained, bunkers. Ground is under repair to the right between the fairways. Maintained fringe surrounds the medium size, fast green. Green is rolling and receptive.

Tee off from small, but level tees, over a flowing steam. Signature hole beauty with large rocks lining the riverbanks on this short par 3. Five real sand bunkers surround the green. Rough is medium length. The green is large, receptive and quite fast.

Tees farther back go over part of the large pond on this finishing hole. Forward tees take some pond out of play, but not all of it as the pond runs along the entire length of the hole to the left. Tees are large and level. The rolling fairway is well manicured. Additional features include medium rough, well-groomed bunkers of real sand and maintained fringe. The green is medium size, receptive and rolling. Green runs at a fast speed. Beware pins cut closer to the water side.

SUMMARY: Bucks Run Golf Club is a must play golf destination. It is immaculately maintained throughout. It is on the pricey side but well worth the effort to play. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly yet professional. There is a putting course replica on an island in the pond accessible by bridge that is a fun play as well.
